AGF provides financial products and services that help financial institutions enhance their lending capabilities, particularly for African SMEs, thus promoting economic development across the continent.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Group CEO, the Senior Communications and Public Relations Officer is responsible for designing and executing corporate communication and PR strategies to increase AGF’s visibility and uphold its brand image. The role plays a crucial part in developing and implementing the company’s communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Communications:
Collaborate closely with the Senior Management Team to create and support communication strategies that align with shareholder priorities and strengthen relationships with partners. Ensure the organization’s brand guidelines are followed across all internal and external communications, including emails, social media, partnership proposals, and business development materials. Work with marketing and creative teams to produce communications materials consistent with the organization’s style and brand voice. Maintain a well-organized archive of all communications, including digital media, for future reference.
Editorial:
Create, write, and edit a wide range of communication materials, including website content, social media posts, press releases, and speeches. Prepare publications such as reports, brochures, and manuals for internal and external audiences to highlight the company’s activities regionally and internationally. Generate content for marketing and informational videos.
Social Media:
Devise digital media strategies and guide PR agencies on creating relevant social media content. Oversee the management and creation of online content across the organization’s social media platforms and ensure the promotion of all communication materials.
Media Relations:
Work with the Group CEO to handle media inquiries, provide press releases, respond to requests, and share relevant information. Monitor media coverage across the continent and compile analytics and metrics to assess the effectiveness of media engagement. Produce and distribute press materials to enhance AGF’s public image and foster positive media relationships.
Event Management:
Plan and execute events aligned with AGF’s goals, such as partnership announcements, conferences, networking events, and CSR activities, to enhance brand awareness.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field from a recognized institution. A minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, content development, and public relations, preferably within a financial institution or multilateral organization. Strong experience in media relations, branding, public affairs, and marketing. A strategic thinker with excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Fluent in English, with a good command of French being an advantage.

Salary Range: Ksh 100,000 – Ksh 150,000 per month
