Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the Senior Communications and Public Relations Officer is responsible for designing and implementing corporate communication and public relations strategies aimed at boosting AGF’s visibility and reinforcing its brand presence. This role plays a key part in shaping and executing the overall communications plan for the organization.

Core Responsibilities
Communications:
Collaborate with senior leadership to create and execute communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals and foster strong relationships with partners. Ensure that AGF’s brand guidelines are adhered to in all communications, including emails, social media posts, sponsorship proposals, and business development materials. Work closely with marketing and creative teams to produce materials that reflect the organization’s branding and convey key messages to target audiences. Maintain a well-organized archive of all communications materials for easy access and future use.

Editorial:
Write, edit, and develop a variety of communication materials such as website content, social media updates, press releases, and speeches. Prepare reports, brochures, and manuals for internal and external stakeholders to enhance recognition of AGF’s activities both regionally and globally. Produce content for videos that promote the organization’s initiatives and goals.

Social Media:
Formulate strategies for digital media campaigns and guide public relations agencies on suitable social media content. Oversee the creation and management of content for AGF’s social media platforms and ensure the promotion of communications materials through these channels.

Media Relations:
Work alongside the Group CEO to respond to media inquiries, distribute press releases, and provide critical information to journalists. Manage media outreach efforts, monitor coverage, and analyze engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of media relations. Distribute brochures, publications, and other press materials to the media to enhance AGF’s image and maintain strong relationships with media outlets.

Event Management:
Coordinate and execute events that align with AGF’s objectives, including partnership announcements, conferences, networking events, and CSR activities. These events are designed to increase awareness of AGF’s brand and its products.

Required Qualifications and Experience
A Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field from a recognized institution. At least 7 years of experience in communications, particularly in a financial institution or multilateral organization, focusing on content development related to economic development, business, or financial topics. A seasoned communications expert with experience in public relations, branding, media relations, public affairs, and marketing. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a strategic approach to communication. High attention to detail and accuracy, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with a good understanding of French being a plus.

Salary Range: Ksh 100,000 – Ksh 150,000 per month
